Food for Thought – Cherry Angioma

“Life is like a bowl of cherries” (proverb) – and so is your skin. You may notice that there are small bright red spots on your body that never go away. These are called cherry angioma – cherry because of their shape and color – angioma because they are dilated blood vessels. Cherry angiomas are benign lesions which can appear throughout life. They are usually located on the arms, legs and torso. Should you find them unsightly or if you tend to cut them and they bleed, Robin Gail Oshman, MD, PhD can remove them for you in her Westport or New Canaan office. Just call 203-454-0743 and book an appointment.
